The editor of Drink, Blog, Repeat is a friend of mine and we are both in the same tasting group in Columbia.
Thought that a tasting paddle, modeled after his logo, was needed.
I did some brainstorming and came up with the following:
Photo 1: Expanded the skull part of his logo. Cut out the outline. Determined the aspect ratio of the skull to the tasting glasses.
Photo 2: Rough cut.
Photo 3: Some sanding and routing of the edges.
Photo 4: Drilling the “eyes” for the tasting glasses. I was surprised by how well the glass wells added another dimension.
Photo 5: Stained using a light oak color.
Photo 6: Matching up to the Drink, Blog, Repeat Logo.

All in all, I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out. However, I’m already thinking about version 2.0.
